Once Upon a Time

History isn't boring if you can go to the place, in person or virtually, where the story happened. Our everyday language is full of historical references which are lost if you don't know your history. Some history is pleasant, much of it is not. But that's life so kids better get ready for it.

Business and Money

How do you teach kids about money. Why do offspring of wealth families tend to become wealthy, why offspring of poor families tend to stay poor. Sure there are crossovers which is a testament to the American Dream and Constitutional Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.

Welcome

Welcome to My Dad Points

I started these challenges for my kids years ago to encourage independent and critical thinking, raise awareness on current events, and challenge the kids with fun education. The kids earn Dad Points as tokens, then can spend those tokens on some cool prizes from the Dad Points prize shelf.

I draw challenges from a wide variety of current events covering sports, science, business, politics, religion, and just some fun ones. Some are just random thoughts or web surfs I run across.

The challenges run in different series:

  • RATS: Read and Think Something
  • SMART: Summer Math And Reading Time
  • CHOOSE: Challenges with an emphasis on making good choices
  • QUICKSMART: Competitive challenges that require a quick reply
  • TWOSMART: Similar to QUICKSMART except multiple awards are given
  • WORLD: Challenges about the world, geography and culture
  • LEADorFOLLOW: Leadership related challenges
  • SPECIAL: Other unusual challenges

Whether you home school, just enjoy challenges, or are looking for ways to connect with your kids, we hope you enjoy the challenges herein.
